Avalon Organics Moisturizer Vitamin C renewal

This product is hands down the best moisturizer that I have ever used. It is oil-free and contains 70% organic ingredients. It smells like fresh picked oranges in Florida. This 2oz plastic jar has lasted me over 6 months which is just incredible. What I really love about this product is that it isn't too heavy on the skin and sinks in really well, keeping away the dry patches on my face. This moisturizer is great for all seasons, especially winter. The jar says the product has " no parabens, harsh preservatives, synthetic colors or fragrances, phthalates, sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. 100 % Vegetarian Ingrediants. No animal testing"  I found mine at Target in the natural beauty section, and I believe I paid less than 20.00 for it.

Almost Gone
  • NO harsh ingredients
  • doesn't harm animals
  • great for all seasons
  • last a long time
  • cheaper than most department store moisturizers
  • orange smell
  • light feeling on the skin
  • find it at target

Method Daily Shower Cleaner

If you just want the basics, scroll to the bottom for bullet points.

Some people enjoy cleaning. I do not. I'd rather do something useless (yes I mean useless) with my time, so anything that cuts down on the amount of time I have to put towards cleaning is helpful. Now of the things I don't like cleaning the shower is the worst one of them. Right now we rent an apartment,  lets call it a condo to make it sound better, and the bathroom has the ugliest yellow tile that just screams dirty no matter how clean it really is. Method makes some really awesome non-toxic products; yet, this one slipped passed me for quite some time. This shower cleaner says "it naturally dissolves and prevents soap scum without giving you a moment's worry about creepy residues, very little exertion required" It actually says that on the bottle, so duh, this product is a must in the shower from now on. I've been using this bottle for almost 3 months and it is still going strong, and I use it heavily! Another great plus of this fantastic spray is that it doubles as a bathroom air freshener with its Ylang Ylang scent. I know there are probably things out there that I could make myself that might do the same thing, but really if I'm too lazy to want to clean the shower, I doubt I will take the time to DIY shower cleaner. So with that being said, this stuff is a pretty awesome deal. I purchase my Method products at Target but I know I have seen them in grocery stores as well as drugstores. One last thing, it retails for 3.99!!! So inexpensive.  The spray really works for me and maybe it can work for some other lazy person out there.

So If your not into reading a lot of babble. Here the basics.

  • it's cheap. Retails at 3.99
  • It smells good. Ylang Ylang
  • if your lazy, this helps you be lazy
  • its non-toxic.
  • you can find it most places you shop for cleaning supplies

again not being paid anything by anybody. :)

Butter London Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat

Recently for my birthday Brandon gave me a splurge when it came to nail-polish. Personally Butter London makes my favorite nail polish ever; however, the hefty price-tag usually makes me turn away at the sight of it. So if you have 15.00 to spend once and a while and you are a nail-polish connoisseur like me, I highly recommend taking the plunge because they are so worth the treat. I picked out a lovely color for my birthday called British Racing Green. It is a lovely dark green, perfect for the upcoming fall season. That isn't even the best part. The best part was being able to get two Butter London polishes. The second one I nabbed was the Matte Finish Shine Free Topcoat. This stuff takes a shiny polish and makes it look matte. It's really fun to watch it change right before your eyes. I have posted some pictures below so that you can see for yourself how amazing these products are. Beware: I cannot paint my nails perfect ever. so ignore the imperfections please. I used two coats of the British Racing Green on both hands and one coat of Matte Finish on one hand.

If you are convinced that you need Butter London in your life I recommend heading to an ULTA Beauty Store Saturday September 14th 2013 for the 21 Days of Beauty because you can get the Butter London for 10.00 and use your rewards card to lower the price further if you can. There aren't many sales on Butter London so think about it.

ps. we are not getting paid for being excited about these products. just sharing the love.

On The Rocks

All right! so our first critique will be a MAN critique. Has anyone ever herd of whiskey rocks or scotch stones? Well I had seen them before and wanted some so my loving wife gave me a set of "Scotch Stones" as an early b-day present.

I will say I had the excitement of a ten year old boy getting his first ever bb-gun. The packaging was really cool and sleek. A nice box with a magnetic flap held everything together. Upon opening it the stones, which are soap stone carved to the size of dice, are displayed neatly and a burlap bag is provided for freezing.

Once the stones have been rinsed and air dried they are ready for the freezer. In about four hours you have perfectly freezing stones in hand and ready to chill your drink. My first thought was actually "damn these are cold!". Placing four, more or less, stones into a glass and filling it with your favorite spirit just to the top of the first stone.

I will say These things do cool one snort of whiskey pretty quickly but pour in a mixer and you should let it sit for a second or two. Clean up is quick and easy; all you have to do is rinse them off under water then let them air dry and refreeze! No taste is imparted to your drink from the stones and it never gets watered down! I love these things! The only down fall like i said earlier is they don't cool off a tall drink very well. Other than that these are a must have for anyone serious about their drink!

Check them out at amazon here.

Welcome

Our first post! So what we plan on doing here is giving a real life critique of products, goods, services, food, and everything we can get our hands on. Our goal is to make this blog applicable to men and women. Therefore, my wife will be doing critiques on things she finds interesting and I will be doing the same. For those things we share and both enjoy we will be discussing them together in a joint post or a video of some sort. We hope to offer some how to videos on products and even recipes we find interesting and/or delicious! With all that stuff being said I hope everyone enjoys our blog and tunes in regularly. We would love to take suggestions and requests from readers on critiques they would like to read about or see. Just leave a comment below or email us at sheelycritique@gmail.com We hope to be making two to three posts a week and possibly sometimes more. So lets get out there and critique our world!!
